The Bisbee’s Black & Blue is more than just a tournament: it’s an international spectacle with over 40 years of history, blending tradition and the sea. Since 1981, when Bob Bisbee organized the first edition, this event has grown into the most prestigious sport-fishing tournament in the world, attracting competitors from multiple countries who come to Los Cabos San Lucas in search of the ultimate Bisbee’s glory.
The 2025 edition was historic:
177 teams participated, making it one of the largest fleets ever recorded.
A total prize pool of over $7.4 million USD was distributed, setting a new record for the competition.
Over the three tournament days, 123 marlins were caught 113 blue and 10 black.
The Magic Touch team made history by capturing a 459-lb blue marlin, winning approximately $2.44 million USD.
The tournament reaffirmed its commitment to responsible fishing and conservation practices, promoting catch and release efforts and the sustainable management of Baja California Sur’s marine species. In addition, harvested specimens were handled following community-support guidelines, strengthening the bond between tradition, sport, and positive social impact in the region.
This year, expectations are high. Will the 2025 record be broken? Which team will make its mark in Bisbee’s history? The Cabo Marina is once again preparing to welcome anglers, spectators, and travelers from around the world in a friendly yet thrilling atmosphere and during these events, it’s the perfect time to explore Los Cabos through authentic local experiences.
